Your privacy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Stream Pad is built on one simple principle: your data is yours. The app runs entirely on your local network, between your phone and your computer — no intermediary server, no account, no cloud. This page explains what we collect (almost nothing) and what is stored on your own devices.

We do not collect personal data

Stream Pad — both the mobile app and the desktop Companion — requires no sign-up and collects no email address, phone number, location, or any other personally identifying information. We have no server to send your data to, because all communication happens directly between your phone and your computer on the same Wi-Fi network.

Data stored on your devices

A small amount of information is stored locally so the app is more convenient to use. It never leaves your device:

  • The IP address and port of computers you have paired with, saved on your phone so reconnecting is faster next time.
  • Your macro button layout (button names, shortcuts, colors, icons), saved as a configuration file on the computer running Companion.
  • Interface preferences such as light or dark mode.

You can erase all of it at any time by uninstalling the app or deleting the configuration file on your computer.

Network connections

Your phone and computer talk to each other over a WebSocket on the same local network. No packets are sent out to the internet during normal use of the app. Your phone camera is used only when you choose to scan a QR code to pair quickly with a computer; the scanned image is never stored or transmitted anywhere.

Third parties

Neither the Stream Pad app nor the Companion software includes any tracking, advertising, or behavioral analytics. This marketing website (the page you are reading) does use Vercel’s anonymous visitor analytics so we can see how many people visit; it collects no personal information and has nothing to do with the apps you install on your phone or computer.

Children

Stream Pad is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them — simply because we do not collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes in future, we will update this page along with the date shown above. Because the app has no internet connection to push notifications through, check back here occasionally if this matters to you.
